The Onondaga Nation has become the second largest investor in EcoLogic Solutions, a manufacturer of natural, plant-based cleaning supplies for restaurants, hotels, schools and office buildings.
The nation has an 11 percent stake in the company, which is based in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. After hearing about EcoLogic three years ago, the nation decided to partner with the company because it shared many of the nation’s values, said Jake Edwards, member of the Onondaga Nation’s Council of Chiefs.
“We feel good because every step that we take (is) to help the environment,” Edwards said. “These products that are coming through, they’re taking those steps. Eliminating toxins in the water.”
