In an urban business park, Baldev Duggal sees nature.

Mr. Duggal, founder of the successful photo imaging company Duggal Visual Solutions, invested $5 million to transform a dilapidated ship repair facility into an elegant waterfront landmark. The Duggal Greenhouse in the Brooklyn Navy Yard utilizes environmental design elements to make the facility not only aesthetically pleasing, but also carbon-neutral.

The 60,000-square-foot structure, located near a ship dock on Wallabout Bay, is Mr. Duggal’s brainchild to promote technologies that focus on sustainability.
